Component Description	STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION)
Defect Description	BOLTED INSTALLATION OF THE STEERING GEAR HOUSING HAS A TENDENCY TO LOOSEN IN SERVICE. THIS IS DUE TO A BACKWARD INSTALLATION OF THE LOCKWASHERS, WHICH ARE BELLVILLE TYPE, AND A RESULTANT INCORRECT TORQUE ON THE BOLTS.
Effect of Defect
Fix Defect	ALL RECALLED VEHICLES WILL HAVE BELLVILLE TYPE LOCKWASHERS AT STEERING GEAR HOUSING ATTACH POINTS REPLACED WITH STANDARD SPLIT-TYPE LOCKWASHERS.
